About Laura

Laura Owens is based in Knoxville, Tennessee, with a deep-rooted connection to the local community. Born and raised in Knoxville, Laura's journey into real estate was a natural progression influenced by her family's background in construction. Growing up, Laura witnessed firsthand the dedication and craftsmanship of her father, who served as an electrical contractor for many years. This exposure to the construction industry ignited Laura's interest in the housing market and laid the foundation for her future endeavors.

After completing her degree in psychology, Laura embarked on a diverse career path, exploring various fields such as fine art, mental health, and local church ministry. Throughout her professional journey, Laura's unwavering commitment to helping others and her strong interpersonal skills remained constant. In 2017, she made the transition to real estate, drawing upon her diverse experiences to excel in her new role.

Since entering the real estate industry, Laura has thrived, leveraging her background in psychology to understand her clients' needs and preferences effectively. Her ability to connect with people on a personal level has earned her a reputation as a trusted advisor in the Knoxville community.

In addition to her role as a Realtor, Laura and her husband have combined their talents to venture into property development, building small, affordable homes in Knoxville and the surrounding areas. With her husband's expertise as a licensed general contractor, together they form a formidable team dedicated to delivering quality, affordable homes and exceptional service to their clients.

Laura finds joy in every aspect of the real estate process, from guiding buyers in their search for the perfect property to expertly staging homes for maximum appeal. However, her greatest satisfaction comes from seeing her clients achieve their real estate goals and successfully navigating them through every step of the journey.

Laura has two adult sons, one living in the New York area,  and the other working alongside her husband, Ed at Owens & Hinshaw, Elec, Inc.  Ed and Laura live in the Hardin Valley area on seven acres that they share with their boxer mix, Muffin and enjoy cooking, traveling and meeting with their microchurch family on a weekly basis in their homes in the area.
