About Michael

Michael has been with Wood Realtors since 1978 when, at age 18, he joined his father in the family business. He worked closely with “Big Mike” gaining experience, maturity and insight. In 1985, Michael became the “Managing Broker” for the company. In Fall of 2018 Wood, Realtors merged with Weichert Realtors Advantage Plus. Michael has served as “Vice President” and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Knoxville Area Association of REALTORS® (KAAR). He is a member of both the KAAR residential Multiple Listing Service (MLS) and the commercial Information Exchange (CIE). He holds a GRI designation from the National Association of REALTORS®. The Graduate REALTOR® Institute (GRI) symbol is the mark of a real estate professional who has made the commitment to provide a high level of professional services by securing a strong educational foundation. Michael’s career in Real Estate brokerage has been diverse with substantial experience in residential, commercial and land brokerage. He has also developed both residential communities and commercial properties in East Tennessee. His experience ranges from subdivision development, government-subsidized housing, commercial subdivisions and investment properties. He has represented local, regional and national clients in his career. As Managing Broker, Michael maintains an open-door policy for clients, customers and his agents alike. He always strives to understand the needs and goals both his clients and his colleagues. In doing so, he stresses straight-forward, prompt communication. He is known as a great listener who helps solve problems, always in an amicable way. In the community, Michael has served on the boards of Interfaith Health Clinic, Homes of Love, and numerous church boards. Not surprisingly, Michael is happiest when he is spending time with his wife, his three married children and his four grandchildren. He enjoys golf with his buddies, hunting and feels fortunate to have many meaningful friendships.
